we start with a refresher on the basics of encaustic before we delve into a wide range of exciting techniques that will expand your skillset and enhance your artwork.
You will discover how to:

Your days will be spent creating in my private studio where I share my secrets and techniques ...developed over nearly 30 years of working with this incredible and versatile medium of encaustic.
Encustic Deep Dive
This creative workshop will take place in my home and private studio space that is nestled in the foothills of the Northern Rockies. World renowned Sun Valley resort is less than 30 minutes away and offers shopping, dining and resort amenities.
Come see my private Idaho and be surrounded by a majestic mountain landscape as we create in the studio. In the evenings... we'll break bread over gourmet meals and share inspirations as we forge new friendships and explore creative ideas.

Welcome Reception & Group Dinner
Students check in at the Lodge after 4pm. Early arrivals gather at Alicia's studio for snacks and beverages. After students get settled we gather for a little bubbly followed by a group dinner.

I have been a professional artist for well over three decades and I have been working with encaustic since 1998. During this time I have pioneered many painting techniques that I am excited to share with you.

Tuition for this retreat ranges from

(depending on your room preferences)

Regular prices after Dec 15,2025: $5236 - $4750
Tuition includes:
Meals, lodging, workshops, art materials and limited ground transportation are all included.
Retreat pricing is per person and accommodations are reserved on a first come, first served basis. We will do our best to provide your preferred lodging and will notify you if your preference is unavailable.
Lodging and activities are for registered students only.
We can not accommodate travel companions, children or spouses.
All prices are posted in US Dollars *Airfare and additional expenses not included with your tuition.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are unable to complete your deposit using the lodging links above, your room preference may be sold out. Please select an alternative room choice to complete your registration and secure your spot.
A non-refundable deposit of $1200 is due at registration and will be applied towards your total tuition amount. Your deposit for this retreat is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
Tuition Due Dates:
The balance of your tuition is due in 2 equal payments totaling your tuition amount.
TUITION PAYMENT 1: Your 1st tuition payment is due 60 days after registration.
TUITION PAYMENT 2: Your 2nd tuition payment is due 90 days after registration.

Reminder: Your deposit of $1200 is nonrefundable and nontransferable. Tuition payments are partially refundable.
Refund Policy: 50% of your tuition payments are refundable if you cancel within 60 days prior to your retreat start date. Travel insurance is strongly recommended if you are concerned about reimbursement due to unforeseen circumstances or cancelations.

Transportation is provided daily between the lodge and Alicia's encaustic studio and local arrival pick up and drop off.

Cancellation Policy & Terms Of Agreement
Thank you for your interest in attending this Encaustic Retreat hosted by Alicia Tormey Studio, LLC.
Please read the Registration & Cancellation Policy carefully.
Nonrefundable Deposit:
Your initial $1200 deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Your deposit is due at time of registration to secure your spot if a space is available.
Tuition Balance
Your tuition is paid in installments beginning with your initial nonrefundable deposit of $1200 followed by two equal payments of your remaining total balance due.
1st tuition payment is due 60 days after registration.
2nd tuition payment is due by January 15, 2025.
If registering after January 15, 2025, full payment may be required at time of registration. Note: All payments and tuition must be paid in full at least 60 days prior to your retreat start date.
Refunds:
Your initial deposit of $1200 is100% non-refundable and non-transferable. A 50% refund of all other tuition paid-to-date will be issued for cancelations made 60 days prior to your retreat start date.
Student Cancellations:
Cancelations must be made within 60 days prior to your retreat start date to be eligible for a partial refund. No refunds will be issued for cancelations made after the 60 day deadline. Cancellations must be submitted via email to art@aliciatormey.com at least 60 days prior to your retreat start date to be eligible for a partial refund.
Late Cancelations: Cancellations made less than 60 days prior to the start date of your retreat are non-refundable and non-transferable.
NO-SHOWS are 100% NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
If your workshop is cancelled by your instructor and Alicia Tormey Studios, LLC for any reason, you will receive a 100% refund of all tuition payments you have paid to date, including any non-refundable deposits.
Alicia Tormey Studios, LLC is not liable for any additional expenses incurred, including, but not limited to; airfare, transportation and accommodations, if your retreat is cancelled by Alicia Tormey Studios, LLC for any reason.
Failure to pay your tuition fees by the required due dates may result in automatic forfeiture of your enrollment and refund eligibility. If you require more time to make your tuition payments, please contact art@aliciatormey.com prior to your payment due dates.
Upon submitting payment, you agree to these terms and you hold Alicia Tormey Studios, LLC. free from any liability in the event of loss or accidental injury.
